TARGET: multi genre research paper

Has anyone had experience with the multi-genre research paper?  One of our
English teachers went to a presentation on it recently, and came back with
some info.  It looks to me like a combination of the I-Search and the Big
6.

I'd love to hear from someone who's worked with it.
