As a K-12 librarian use both SLJ and Booklist, but if the price continues to escalate I would drop SLJ first. While the articles are handy, I find their choices and reviews of "Adult Books for Young Adults" to be slight and sketchy. Freshmen and Sophomores and up tend to read adult rather than young adult books and SLJ simply doesn't review enough of them. I also wish that they would publish "Library Journal's" selections of the best books of the year--that would be a real service for those of us serving a High School population, and at least that issue would justify the price. For Grace and others reviewing for Booklist--You do a terrific job--on both the incisiveness of the reviews and your choices. I continue to look for "sleepers" that will enthrall my kids and teachers, and Booklist usually provides them.
