One of my English teachers came to me with this poem suspecting plagiarism. Can anyone identify it? So many shadows does December cast, And work upon the direness of the day: But I am strong and urge my will to last, Enveloped in a sadness growing grey: My uncle you have taught me many things, A master to the health of other's hearts: Now bitterness and lamentation stings, Surpassing all the make-shift of your arts: :You did not know the doctor's pill was death, When mixed with problems alcohol erased: The foul liquid in each dying breath, Proved truly the last drink that you would taste: I hope in it your dreams would come to be, And now I long to live, not just to see. Thanks for your help. -- Monica Eischens Kemp Library/Media Department Head Breck School 123 Ottawa Ave N.
