I am proposing a workshop for the CSLA conference in Sacramento, November 2002, called "Accelerated Reader: the good, the bad, and the ugly". It will be a panel discussion by librarians in schools using AR. We will be discussing the pitfalls and payoffs of the program, how it affects the LMC, and nuts and bolts advice for making it run smoothly. If you are helping to administer the program at your school and would like to be a panel member please contact me. ---- Tony Doyle, Librarian Livingston High School 1617 Main St. Livingston, CA 95334 tdoyle@muhsd.k12.ca.us 209-358-2948 <Http://www.lhs.muhsd.k12.ca.us/library/index.htm> "You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture.
