I would like to find out if any districts in any of these states have adopted a comprehensive electronic curriculum program districtwide. I am referring to the kind that is covers all subject matters, is delivered via computer in either a lab or a classroom setting, is correlated and aligned with state standards, and provides teachers with reports that help determine gain scores (entry levels of students vs. levels at the end of the school year), mastery of objectives, benchmarks and strands. Also, it can be purchased in modules for either reading, math, science and social studies. Compass (formerly Jostens), Plato, Orchard, NovaNet, Classworks, come to mind as possibilities, but I am sure there are more. I most states this is left at the discretion of each individual school, but I am curious to see if any district has tried to implement it for all schools either as a supplement to instruction or as sole curriculum. If your district has done it, please let me know: 1. What program was adopted? 2. Are teachers happy with the reports? 3. Does the program automatically move students as objectives are met or does it require teacher input for each student? 4. Any other relevant information that could help us decide to implement something like this for accountability purposes. If your district hasn't done it officially, but most school have, I would also like to hear from you. Thanks!
