water damage

I am in need of some quick "how to save books and papers" methods. We had a
pipe break over the weekend in our school. Our English department with shelf
after shelf of books and class unit material was water damage for slight to
soaked. Anyway to save her paper units and overheads. We can replace most of
her books through insurance but it is her compiled unit material that we are
trying to save. Thanks for any tips you can give us.
