To: Sony Barari regarding your recent opinion on the need for a library
science program or the need for librarians:

1. Thank you for the disclaimer at the beginning of your article, stating
that you are a D student. This will preclude your entrance into the
Library Science graduate program. (This is no small relief to us)

2. Your disinterest in actually researching the program before you
comment on it is apparently consistent with the rest of your academic
career. When I was in college, a study concluded that students could pull
a C in most courses without doing the research required. Admittedly a D
student, you have helped to prove that the "dumbing down" theory has merit.

3. Is your life as a developmental biogology geek so lame that you would
actually see the library as an appropriate place to create "hoopla and
merrymaking"? Most people lose this notion once they are paroled from
high school and attain legal drinking age.

4. It will further offend your sensitivities when I share the fact that
my own library science degree actually was granted through the School of
Engineering at the university I attended. Gives one pause, doesn't it?

5. However, I would expect nothing less from a person whose parents saw
fit to name him after electronics equipment.

PS. If you ever want to see your undergraduate degree or send any
transcipts to a potential employer, it would behoove you to make sure your
books are returned and your fines are paid. We can be a vindictive bunch
of zealots.
