The student admitted to the teacher the poem was not originally hers (a friend wrote it) and it was not supposed to be submitted to him for the assignment (even though it had the teacher/course/date header on it). She turned in a different poem today which was the "original" drafted for the assignment. I searched the web via a string search using Google and used LitFinder at the local public library and turned up nothing, so it hasn't been published (at least in the mainstream) anywhere. For those of you struggling to recall my request, the title and first stanza were as follows: My Uncle's Death So many shadows does December cast, And work upon the direness of day: But I am strong and urge my will to last, Enveloped in a sadness growing grey: -- Monica Eischens Kemp Library/Media Department Head Breck School 123 Ottawa Ave N.
