Hi,
        I've had issue for a long while, and my office area (financial
records, new unprocessed books, etc.) was included in the open space.  What
finally won the battle at my school was pointing out that there was an
insurance issue in leaving a space open for students unattended.  This
worked more than pointing out the 2000$ a year in loss that was walking out
the door.
