Today our school (Gr.3-5) had the pleasure of hosting a visit by illustrator
Michael Dooling. He may already be booked for this spring, but if you can
think ahead to next spring and have around $1000 in your budget, I would
highly recommend him. His 45-50 min. program includes several examples of
his artwork on display, students demonstrating his technique of using
costumed models, a slideshow of his illustrations, and an opportunity for
students to come up and paint along with him. The program was polished,
professional, and definitely kept the students engaged. He was accompanied
by his wife and both were easy to talk to and made an effort to make their
visit special. He has a website at www.michaeldooling.com where you can see
the books he has illustrated (I bet you will be surprised how many you may
already have!) and pictures of a typical school visit. Please email me if
