Here's an update on the challenge I posted. A committee was formed to = decide whether to keep this book or not. The committee voted 3-2 to = retain the book. In order to avoid controversy, they decided to make = the book available to students in Grades 9-12 only (this is a Grades = 7-12 school). The superintendent would agree to this if we also have = students get parental permission. In order to solve this dilemma and = not have a board hearing on this issue, I have decided to go along with = this. The Superintendent had a question about how other schools handle the = book Go Ask Alice. I would appreciate a response from any and all = librarians, especially those from NJ, as to what restrictions, if any, = you impose on this book in your school. This would help me and show him = tha this book appears in the majority of the libraries in New Jersey = schools and elsewhere. Thanks for all your help and support on this issue.
