First, I needed to make myself clearer. I knew Whitney and O'Keeffe were white and the point I was trying to make was that the list was not well researched which made me question the inclusion of Cleopatra. I told the teacher who put the list together that I knew they were white when the students came in to research them and she took them off the list. But I wasn't sure about Cleopatra because I had heard for years the complaints that she was never played by a person of color in the movies. And please understand I am not trying to start a controversy about it here. I just didn't want to confuse the students any more than they already were, and I knew this group would have an answer. I did remember my history correctly about the Greek connection according to most of the responses I received. Thanks for your quick responses.
