Hi all.. Didn't have a lot of responses to my request, but those sent were very helpful.. Thanks to all. bev HIT: I love Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz. It is published by Scholastic. It is a James Bond formula with a 14 year-old reluctant secret agent. There is as much gimicry and mayhem as a James Bond book but it is easy and fun to read. _____ How about Bruce Coville's The Dragonslayers? Or My Teacher is an Alien? Or Aliens Ate My Homework? _____ ...would Tom Barron's Lost years of Merlin be too high a reading level for them? My nephew in fourth grade is reading it now. He likes sci fi/fantasy and is an average reader. ______ Try any of John Bellair or William Sleator's books. My kids love them. ______ I would check the reading level on these books to see if they might be appropriate for your group. Silverwing, Bud, not Buddy, View from Saturday, and A Long Way from Chicago. _______ Website of the Warped Wizards by Kimmel Deltora Quest series by Emily Rodda Seventh Tower series by Garth Nix ________ Thanks again..bev Bev Rovelli East Hill Elementary School 501 Blackmore Road Camillus, New York 13031 315-487-4652 fax 315-487-5499 *********************************************************************** Bev Rovelli, Teacher/Librarian brovelli@wgmail.cnyric.org East Hill Elementary School 401 Blackmore Road Camillus, New York 13031 315-487-4652, 315-487-5499 - fax "Teachers are like gardeners - planting the seeds of discovery, cultivating curiosity, and nurturing the joy of learning!" =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
