We are interested in having all students complete a required research
project for each year in high school. As part of this research project, we
wish to incorporate info lit. skills (e.g. searching for and evaluation
info, notetaking, synthesizing info, etc).

At this time, we are focusing on a project for 9th graders and one for 10th
graders, one that would be done through the English dept (or possibly the
Social Studies dept). We want all the students to do the research project,
but their topics can vary. The projects do not have to be literature-based
project (e.g., an author study).

We would like to have examples of student research projects that are being
done at the 9th-10th grade level. If you have one/some that you've liked and
would like to share, we would love to hear about it. Also, if you can think
of some pitfalls we should avoid with the project, we'd love to about that,
too.

Thanks!
