We have banned all games from all of the computers here, by order of the principal. We had too many kids spending too much time playing games, and not enough time doing schoolwork. We are a poorer district, but our people have voted a fairly high tax to support a good school, and we felt that we were not honoring their trust by using their hard-earned tax dollars to provide expensive toys. Every classroom has at least one computer for student use, and most have several. We also have three computer labs, each with at least 20 computers. We didn't want to have to explain to some irate parent why kids were playing Solitaire during class time, so the order went out to take all the games off. I've never permitted them on the library computers, so now the entire school is doing what I did some time ago. This has helped keep the kids on task.
