Dear LMnetters,
I am writing as a parent, and future school librarian possibly interested in
working in this district. Champaign Unit 4 district is currently looking for
a new superintendent. 3 of the 4 candidates have interviewed and met with
school and community members this week, with the 4th scheduled for today.
I am writing to ask if persons in Longview Texas Independent School
District, Austin Independent School District(Area V) and Baltimore School
District(Area IV) could please respond to what the support of the
superintendents are for librarians and media centers. I've viewed the
website for each district and some for the schools in the districts
Currently the schools in the Champaign district share librarians at the
elementary level, I believe 2 per school. I am wondering if maybe with a
new superintendent there may be a chance of full-time media specialists in
EACH elementary school. Any information you can provide would be greatly
appreciated. Please reply to me directly. Thank you for your help.
