Your cataloging question is difficult to answer. When I started cataloging in a media center, in a private school, I had never cataloged in MARC. It was a nightmare. Please understand the rudiments of MARC before attempting to catalog. Even then, copy catalog only. Otherwise, when you do learn cataloging, you will be humiliated by all the errors you made. At least, I was. My errors occurred in 1995-1997. I have been correcting them ever since when I bump into them. I took some cataloging courses through a library network to which my school belongs before I received my MLS. I received it on 12/15/01. Am still cataloging and using "Bookware", a wonderfully useful tool to download records into my library program, and download records to copy from Worldcat (my local public library permits its constitutents to access worldcat from home, etc.). Good luck!! Nora Shukovsky, MLS Community School Naples, FL =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
