I have a 5th grade teacher interested in teaching American History through biographies in literature circles. She has never taught this way and would like advice or pointers on using biographies. She is interested in knowing what the "elements of biographies" are that she should be focusing on. Are there any resources that I could invest in or locate for her in the internet that would make this transition easier? She wasn't very pleased with the basal's ideas for teaching the biographies genre. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
