Hello -

I struggle to "settle" on something that I can call a curriculum, since, on
a high school level, its depends on who does what when? or who is willing to
hold students accountable for process as well as content.

I try to keep Big 6 in mind all the time, and usually spend the first few to
10 minutes introducing some resouces and or strategies that will be of help,
but since it is rarely graded, I never know which students have tried my
suggestions, and/or if that has helped them.

A colleague in CT shared this list with me - anyone that comes to the LMC in
Sept. gets Sept.'s lessons, etc. and I like the idea...

Sep Is....lessons around "task definition"
Oct is...lessons using books and periodicals
Nov is...e-resources
Dec is...searching
Jan is...evaluation
Feb is...navigation of sites
Mar is...note-taking
Apr is...copyright and citing sources
May is...process evaluation
Jun is...putting it all together

I try to work with 9th grade science teachers - in particular, the course in
"Principles of Science" - they do lots of research - its a non-textbook
course - I am trying to settle on what 9th graders need to know re: process
- then "schedule it" - I'm not entirely happy with the breakdown that is
below.

Does anyone have a "curriculum map" - either by grade or by month or by
topic - would you be willing to share?

Much obliged,

Julie
