Director, Central Minnesota Libraries Exchange

The Central Minnesota Libraries Exchange (CMLE), located on the campus =
of St. Cloud State University, seeks an energetic, enthusiastic =
candidate to serve as Director of this 12-county multi-type library =
cooperation system with 280+ member libraries.  Members include public =
libraries, school library media centers, college and university =
libraries, and special libraries such as law, medical, historical =
societies and government.  The CMLE Director is responsible for =
promoting and implementing the board-approved strategic plan while =
overseeing daily operations of the organization.

Responsibilities:  Provide reference and interlibrary loan services to =
member libraries; establish and implement a plan for delivery of =
services and materials among members; promote innovative models and best =
practices of library services; manage CMLE's finances; serve as an =
advocate for multi-type library funding using knowledge of the =
legislative processes; supervise one AFSCME staff member and additional =
part-time and student workers.

Qualifications: Masters degree in Library Science or Library Media.  =
Minimum three years library experience, including reference.  Experience =
in library management processes, including employee supervision.  =
Knowledge of existing and emerging information technologies.  Knowledge =
of library needs, issues and trends of various library types, including =
legislative funding processes.  Experience in grant writing and grants =
management.  Ability to communicate effectively, and skill at fostering =
collaboration and consensus.  Ability to take initiative, work =
independently, organize efficiently, and make appropriate decisions.
