I was hired about a month after school started, and basically I was to
babysit the library. I wasn't expected to actually BE a librarian. Of
course, I found it a fascinating job, and in January I started working on
certification. That was the 1988-89 school year, and I've been loving the
work ever since. I changed schools in 1998, so that I'm now a full-time
librarian (I was only part-time librarian and part-time study hall
supervisor at the old school).
