Uh-oh, think the dingo is loose in the chookhouse again .....

Noodlebib and the other great tools on http://www.noodletools.com/ have been
developed by one of our own, Debbie Abilock and her son Damon. Debbie is
Curriculum Coordinator and Director of Library and Technology at The Nueva
School (San Francisco Bay area) and contributes much to the LMS world
through professional magazines like Knowledge Quest.

If you read about her on http://www.noodletools.com/aboutus.html you will
see that this project is a voluntary one and, as one who spends hours of
personal time creating our school webpage, I would like to know why Debbie
should NOT be recompensed through subscriptions for her time and effort and
expenses. If her ISP is charging HER squillions because WE access the site,
why should she be left to foot the bill? The only alternative would be
seeking advertising and that would not be my first choice, and there is a
banner at the top of each page which reads "NoodleTools is proud to be
advertisement-free."

So instead of looking for a free alternative, perhaps we should accept that
as with nearly everything else, this site should be user-pays and the cost
of the sub become an integral part of our annual budgets.

I believe that those of us in the library every day are usually those who
best know what WE need to support student learning and the delivery of the
curriculum and if one of us creates a tool that is as useful as Noodletools
then we should do everything we can, including paying a sub, to support it.
