TAR: Norfokians and Virginia-Knowledgable Folks--Naval Base Question

Hi All,

My family is traveling to Norfolk VA tomorrow to visit a family friend who
is at the Armed Forces School of Music in Norfolk, VA.
Can you suggest a nice place to stay and another place to eat?

We don't mind driving but don't want to spend the entire weekend in the car,
either.
I've found lots of motesl and restaurants on MapQuest and in my AAA book,
but I'm hoping for a "personal" reccomnedation.We have a four year old with
us.
Also - anything really cool we shouldn't miss to do on Saturday or Sunday?
 Does anyone have any suggestions for me?   Please e-mail directly.
