Here is the Technology Wish list I have compiled. I am now looking for
recommendations on CDRoms for Junior High level students.
The Well-equipped Library

Computers:

There should be a sufficient number of computers in the library to
accommodate at least half a class of students. (16-18) All should be
up-to-date PC’s.

Ideally they would all have Internet access as well as the library search
program. Each computer should have the district standard software
(Microsoft Office, Professional). Other programs should include:
Online or CD version of at least two Encyclopedias
        Inspiration
        Adobe acrobat
        Adobe Photoshop
Online database for magazines and newspapers (i.e. ProQuest)

A server for student projects

Multi media project station Including scanner, VCR and editing software
for both video and audio and presentation software

We currently have wiring for 15 networked computers. That includes the
eight in the Internet access area and seven search stations.

Additional Hardware:

Color Printer
Desktop Visual Presenter
DV deck (plays the 8 mm digital video tapes)
At least 2 scanners for student use
LCD projector (one to stay in the library and at least 2 to check out)
CD burner
Zip Drive
Digital cameras both video and still
Video setup for recording Cable in the Classroom programs
Audio and video cassette dubbing equipment
Smart Board (interactive whiteboard)

Software:

CD roms for a variety of curriculum areas (best if they are on server)
Clipart
Geometry Sketchpad

Multimedia research station
“Quiet room” with AV equipment
Periodical section
