A few people with the same problem have asked for a hit, so here are the responses so far: - sprinkle the detergent 20 Mule Borax around the room - ask a professional exterminator for a child friendly solution - control the moisture in the room - impossible for south Louisiana humidity but it could work in other areas of the country - bug boxes from Wal-Mart - the kind that attracts bugs inside but they don't come out - cedar chips - mothballs - electronic pest control devices - cloves - cinnamon - the colorful toilet deodorizing blocks that are covered in cellophane can be hung around the room - lavender oil - either wipe the shelves with it or mix with water and spray around the room Thanks so much for all of your suggestions. We have just started spring break so I won't be able to try anything until we return to school. If I find anything that works especially well, I'll be sure to let you know.
