I received many responses to my query about whether or not is a copyright
violation to access the public library's EBSCO database subscription from
school, since remote access was acceptable.

The vast majority of people said it had nothing to do with copyright. It was
a licensing issue. We need to check with the public library and see what
their license says. Many people mentioned that as long as the student was
using his/her own library card number it should be fine. What was not
acceptable was posting a generic library card number that the students at
school could use to access the public library's database.

In actuality, our regional library system provides school media centers
with 4 different database subscriptions we can access for free, so we don't
really need to access Ebsco from anywhere!

Thanks to everyone who replied.
