1. Under the Edit menu, go to Preferences/Appearance, and
check the box for "text only".

2. I highly recommend the tools at the AnyBrower.com site
(http://www.anybrowser.com/) to check webpage compatibility.

3. There's a nifty little browser called OffByOne which allows
one to turn off images with a quick click on its options menu.
The entire browser is only 1.1 MB installed and I've never
had any weird interference or memory problems like you get
sometimes with the major browsers.
OB1 is at (http://www.OffByOne.com).

4. Again, there's the Opera browser, which - while not as small
and fast as OB1 - is still smaller and faster than either Netscape
or IE, _and which has a great handy toggle button on its taskbar
which allow one to turn images off and on again instantly.
You can get Opera at (http://www.opera.com/).
