I had a student a few yrs ago at my other job pay for the book and several
months later inform me he found it on his windowsill in his bedroom. Geez!
Also had one lose it on a plane (after I talked about not taking books on
vacation).
One kid told me hers fell out of the car.
Others were lost at the beach (the school was 4 blocks away from the ocean)
One child, we assume threw hers in the lake since she had already thrown
three classroom books in there. LOL!! She moved out of state soon afterwards.
