In a couple of weeks I will be moving our library into a new Media Center. It is a short walk from the old to the new. I would like to include the students at my K-5 school in the move. I was thinking about having parent helpers in the old room who would give each student 3 or 4 books to carry to the new building. I'd be in the new building ready to help them put the books on the shelves in good order. The purpose would not be as much to get the books moved as to get the kids to feel as if they are really a part of creating the new facility. Have any of you tried this? Thanks for any advice!
