A great big thanks to Nancy Steinke for allowing me to share this with the group. She sent this to me when I asked for suggestions to share with students of places they might locate a misplaced library book. When I received this, I thought "Okay, I'm through! This is perfect!" But, I hadn't gotten her permission to share it when I posted the hit last week. : *************************** This is what we're sending out with our newsletters this spring. It's an amplification of the partial list you sent, plus some places that we've experienced over the years. Hope it's helpful! Lookin' for books in all the wrong places.....? It's the time of year when we, in the Media Center, are getting serious about getting overdue books returned to us. Each year books are found in amazing and unexpected places. If there is a book hiding at your house here are some places where the tricky ones have been found in the past! under your bed under every other bed in your house between your bed and the wall under the covers at the foot of your bed on top of the refrigerator (or some other high place it was put to be "safe") in the car under the seat between the seats under all couches and chairs on the coffee table - under stuff under a pile of magazines or newspapers on your bookshelves on other bookshelves the floor of your closet in your underwear drawer (or wherever you shove stuff when Mom says to clean your room) in the room or belongings of a sibling in the motorhome that was stored away last fall in the freezer (with the bag of groceries you carried in) in the box of Christmas decorations you were helping put away at the doctor's or dentist's or eye doctor's office at your friend's house (when you stayed overnight) at your daycare provider's house at your grandparent's or other relative's house So, get the family involved and find those slippery books that have been eluding you for weeks or months! They need to return home to their shelf in the Media Center! Thanks. ************************* Okay, it's D'Anne again. Thanks to everyone for all their ideas!
