A person on another listserv is fantastic with poems. She writes them
fast and for any occasion you can think of. I emailed about something
cute for overdue books and this is what she came up with:
A Happy Librarian
Be a good citizen
And read a good book.
We have lots of wonderful titles
Come and take a look!
We love to help you find a book
That especially speaks to you
But we get a bit unhappy
When your books are overdue!
We will stamp your books correctly
With the due time and date
And we really do not like it
When you return them late.
Don't dog-ear the pages
And keep them away from the pool
To bring back a soggy book
Really isn't cool!
We love to have our books returned
In good shape and on time
And if you disregard our rules
We will make you pay a fine!
So keep your librarian happy
And return those which are overdue
And we will all be able to enjoy the old ones
And have money for some new!
Reading is contagious
It can really be such fun
That we want to have a wealth of books
To share with everyone!
