AR vs. Reading Counts

Hi,
    I have been reading about all the problems with AR.  My elementary
school is deciding which program to go with-- Reading Counts or Accelerated
Reader.  There are people who want both.  Alot of politics is involved here
and the principal is looking to me for some answers.  Please let me know
your feelings on these two programs.  I know I could check the archives, but
of course I do not have time.  This information needs to be concise and to
the point.  Please email me directly.  Thank you and I look forward to
hearing some constructive thoughts.
