SEC: Jacqueline Woodson author visit/ Walter Dean Myers HIT

About a week ago I requested information about having Walter Dean Myers
come for an author visit. For those of you who were interested, he is
booked until the 2003-4 school year, and his honorarium is $2,000.00.

I contacted Jacqueline Woodson and she is available for a February
visit. I am wondering if any of you have had her visit before, and if
so, could you share your impression of her presentation. Also, I haven't
read it, but I'm thinking that "Miracle's Boys" might be a good book for
our high school students to focus on. Is there another title you would
recommend? We need a really engrossing read to reach a lot of apathetic
readers!
