I'm still using the typewriter for spine labels, and very happy with it. Of
course, until I came here in 1998 I was using a typewriter for the cards,
too! Now I have Athena, and my cataloging work is a snap.
Yes, I know that Athena can print the spine labels, but it is much easier
for me to use the typewriter to do the few I need, since I then don't have
to tell the entire campus not to use the library printer. Sometimes the old
technology is better than the new.
