TARGET: MIDDLE SCHOOL: Recommended Authors from the Midwest

Our grades 4-8 schools have raised money from a variety of sources to bring
an author in for a day. We would like to spend as much of the money on the
author and as little as possible on this person's transportation costs. I
would like recommendations for authors who are located in the midwest (I'm
from Iowa) who would be attractive to upper-elementary / middle school
students. Specifically, I'm looking for names, contact information, and if
possible, the costs.
