Dear LM_NET friends, I was pleased to find out recently that our elementary school is the recipient of a Star Schools grant that will provide us with the equipment for our 4th graders to study the regions of the United States by communicating with other classrooms throughout the country. I am looking to the members of LM_NET to locate classrooms that would be interested in participating. Yes, that is how I stated it in the grant---that I would find the classrooms through my connections on LM_NET!!! If you are interested I would like you to email me as soon as possible. Those who participate will be asked to make a video about their region to share, email questions and answers to our students and participate in a video conferencing event. (I have a web cam I can send to you for the video conferencing) We are making a video about Iowa to share with the participating schools. Obviously, you will need Internet access, email and video capabilities to do this. Details will follow if you are truly interested and able to participate. The following are the regions and states we would like to hear from. I will need three from each region as we have three sections of 4th grade. I would prefer 4th grade classrooms, but that is not absolute, maybe in your school you study the regions of the US in a different grade. West (region) States: Washington, California, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Nevada, Montana, Utah, Alaska Southwest (region) States: Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma Northeast (region) States: Vermont, New York, Pennsylvania, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland Midwest (region) States: North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan Southeast (region) States: Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina, Kentucky, West Virgina, Virginia Thanks, Barb Ehlers Media Specialist Wings Park Elementary 111 8th Ave NE Oelwein, Iowa 50662 behlers@netins.net =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
