How about video production?
Check out:

for a relatively inexpensive ($2000). . . beginning...

Get students to produce videos of what they learn from year to year...
Get them shown on the local cable community station...
Make them available to teachers in subsequent years as teaching aids...
It'll be a fun addition to the curriculum of every subject!

Some high schools even have devices for each department as well
as for the special topics... (art, athletics, and clubs). . .
