Dear Group, Is it bad to store videos on metal shelves? Last year we had to change from wooden shelves because we were out of room. Part of one tape is not working...just goes black and white after playing about half. The teacher said he read somewhere that they could become demagnetized. In my 25 or more years of education (13 of them in the library) I have never heard or read about this at all. I am horrified! I hope more aren't ruined, but so far we haven't noticed any others not working. If it is bad, can you cover those shelves with shelf paper or anything to prevent bad things happpening. As always, thanks for your help.
