Dear Group - I asked for your help early in the fall for a kindergartner reading at a 2nd or 3rd grade level, and you came through wonderfully. Now our test scores are back, and we have found that she's closer to a 6th grade level. We all want to do the best by this little girl, of course, (and isn't this a wonderful 'problem' to have?!) and are scrambling for activities which will keep her moving forward on the wonderful track she's on. Her teacher has some ideas for pull-out sessions, and I've volunteered to work with her in the library if they want me to. However, I need some ideas which will strengthen her skills but will also have and element of fun - not just 'now-you've-done-this-so-well-let's-try-something-harder' activities. TIA!
