Impact of the Net on children's character?

I'm gathering material for a book on character building. (And thank you
so much for all of the valuable resources I've gathered from this list!)
Do you have any anecdotes you can share (anonymously, of course) that
illustrate the Net's positive or negative influence on children's
character?
