We have Pinkmonkey.com blocked on our school internet because the students
use the notes there rather than reading the material and writing their own.
Because we have several teachers who ask for reports using the Contemporary
Critical Reviews and other resources that we have in our library, they find
that the students don't read the work and then don't use the resources we
have if they can access Pinkmonkey.
(Of course, that doesn't keep them from looking at the information at home!)

If you notice that the website "solicits" teachers and professors to write
those critical reviews and notes for the materials that are sold, you might
want to ask yourself some serious questions about who might actually be
doing this work, why they would be doing it (other than money), and what
kind of authority are they on the subjects (or works) they write about for
Pinkmonkey?

Obviously, if our students are using it and we've had to block the access,
then there must be some usefulness in what is written (hopefully it isn't
just something "fast and fancy at the last minute"); however, depending upon
what you want from the website, you might want to approach it with some
cautious research. Perhaps others might have observations that will help.
