TAR:SECURITY SYSTEMS

Hello
My security system is not working and before I pay a huge amount for a
service call, I need to look into replacing the system with a new one.
We have an old Checkpoint system with tags, but I am open to any
systems/ideas.
If you have recently purchased a security system,
1.  Would you recommend your system?
2.  What is a good price for a system?
3.  Any new special options to look for?

I will post a hit.  There wasn't anything really current that I could
find in the archives, even though this was a hot topic in the past.
