TARGET: Low level mystery series for middle school

Hello to all,

I have a teacher looking for a good mystery series for some middle school
students who are low readers (around a 3rd grade level).  I am having a
hard time coming up with ideas!  He would like something that, although a
lower reading level, would be of interest to 7th and 8th graders!
