I am an Intel Teach to the Future Master Teacher and also an elementary
librarian. I have felt passionate about the connection between the
integration of technology and the integration of information literacy since
receiving my MLIS in 2000. I wrote the grant for our district to
participate in the Intel program because we had received thousands of
dollars worth of technology that noone was trained to use. The response to
the training has been slow but we are gaining more teachers participating
each session. The training has helped me develop collaborative units with
the teachers at my school. The more the teachers learn about topics such as
locating information electronically, developing electronic
reports(PowerPoints), and web pages, the more they use it with their
students. All the teachers in my school now make their own web pages to go
on the school website. I recommend the Intel workshop highly.
