Use caution in using Amazon book reviews. Yes, they may reprint reviews
from some standard sources, but they will actively OMIT a poor review.
Can you blame them? They have a warehouse full of these books that they
want to sell. An unfavorable review will dampen the market for the book.
Sure use it for favorable reviews when a book is challenged, but don't
shortcut valid review sources in collection development by using Amazon.
You may not get the whole picture.

Dear All,

There has been discussion on this list about the fact that Amazon.com
doesn't accommodate school accounts. Earlier this week I received a
message
from them announcing a new service. I have no financial interest in
Amazon but
do purchase from them as well as use them as a resource for book
reviews.
