Use caution in using Amazon book reviews. Yes, they may reprint reviews from some standard sources, but they will actively OMIT a poor review. Can you blame them? They have a warehouse full of these books that they want to sell. An unfavorable review will dampen the market for the book. Sure use it for favorable reviews when a book is challenged, but don't shortcut valid review sources in collection development by using Amazon. You may not get the whole picture. Carol Simpson, Ed.D. Earlier this week I received a message from them announcing a new service. I have no financial interest in Amazon but do purchase from them as well as use them as a resource for book reviews. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
