Just saw the New York Public Library's list of the 100 Favorite
Children's Books.  I understand that asking for a favorite book is like
asking a mother which child is her favorite (easier for some than
others) and that a list is often remarkable by what it does not include.
 Lists have positives and negatives.  But...

HOW COULD THEY NOT INCLUDE Where the Red Fern Grows?  That book still
makes me cry.  Shiloh is an outstanding story, but it's just not in the
same league.  There are a few other changes I would make, but this is
the book I'd go to the mat for.

Anyone know how the titles were selected?
