The latest issue of "School Libraries in Canada" is devoted to Collection
Development.  According to Ray Doiron in his article, "An Administrator's
Guide to Collection Development", "New national standards for per pupil
spending have been established and on average they suggest $35 per pupil
per year."  Now I must tell you that none of the teacher librarians in our
board see anywhere near that amount.
