I am curious which department(s) at your school bears the responsibility for teaching the research process to your students. Are there pedagogical reasons why the burden may fall to that (those) department(s)? If more than one department shares the responsibilities, what types of assignments are involved? What level of communication exists between the librarian and the involved department(s)? If there is more than one, do the involved departments communicate on said issue? Does your school have a committee in place to explore such issues? Thnks in advance for your help!
