Connie, I have a Brother P-touch Pro DX. I love it. I was so excited at the beginning of the year my students told me they were afraid I was going to label all of them STUDENT in different fonts and label all the books BOOK with different clip art. They probably weren't far off ;-). Ann Ann Johnson Media Specialist Westbrook Middle/High School 156 McVeagh Rd. Westbrook, CT 06498 ajohnson@westbrookctschools.org I have used various Brother systems for several years...presently I have the PT2600. It might be over kill, unless you want a system that can print from your computer too. I really like this model, the labels look great. I have them in several sizes. Just be prepared for a shock when you see the cost of the tape; but I don't think any printing systems have cheap tape. Good luck. Jane Flood-Librarian Brackenridge HS janeflood@yahoo.com I have the P-touch PRO dx and love it. there is so much one can do with it. It is a little more expensive but because it is so versatile, but I think it is worth the price. Lorraine Smith Librarian Lake Pointe Elementary School Austin, TX 78738 smithlo@laketravis.txed.net You need one that can do at least three lines of text. I use mine for staff books and videos and for labelling the shelves. I can't remember the model number, but it does three lines. I love it. Randi Randi Louise Hermans Teacher-librarian East Chilliwack Elementary K-6 Chilliwack, B.C. Canada rhermans@shaw.ca Dear Connie, My library has a Brother labeling system and we love lit!. It is very versatile. We use it to label shelves. The clear tape is great. my assistant read the direction book and the system is capable of doing so much. I recommend it completely. Pam Fraser L. Cook Middle School I bought the PT-1900 model because it will do a variety of sized tapes and 4 lines of print. I use it to label shelves and book spines, file folders, etc. It was about $80.00 and runs on batteries so it is portable. I run between 3 schools and take it with me. If you are in one location, the one that connects to your computer is great because it can run bar code labels. Pam Gelbmann, Media Specialist Anoka-Hennepin ISD #11 gelbmann@ties2.net Hello! I bought for the library a Brother P-Touch 1900/1910. I use the 3/4" tape size for spine labels or shelf labels (if no computer is available). and I use font size 42. Hope this helps you. It is great, however, the labels do tend to peel off a wood shelf - maybe put tape over it.
