When do you show Channel One?
Up to this year it was shown twice, during two of the three lunch shifts,
so that all students saw it. This year we switched from block to
traditional scheduling, and Channel One was moved to the end of the day.
I'd like it to be moved to the beginning of the day, and I'd like some
arguments for that change. So far the best argument I can think of is that
we are already watching yesterday's news, and if we see it at the end of
the day there is no opportunity to discuss it until the next day. If we
watched it early in the day the stories could be used in class discussions
during the day.
Can any of you give me more or better reasons for switching? If not, I
suspect that we will be showing it at the end of the day again, and it will
be just another waste of time.
